The feed mill of ACOREX delivered its first order in mid 2004 rapidly approaching the 80,000 tonnes per year of production that remain today. The development of livestock in ACOREX, entering purely livestock cooperative members, and the rise of the Iberian pig production in the region, created the need for the FEED section. The construction of the factory, projected before the year 2000, was decided because of the need to control the main input in livestock. Feed accounts for 70% of the costs of a livestock farm and ACOREX, true to its principles, must help its members, as far as possible, providing the best value for money. Making your own feed means having another a link in the chain of self-sufficiency of ACOREX as part of the raw material used comes from member cooperatives, and following the direction of the chain, part of the feed, goes to cooperatives partners and companies in the group ACOREX, like Señorío de Mayorga, Ibergenética y Terneras Extremeñas. These animals are processed by ACOREX and offered to the final consumer through CEPA.
